Salam,
At around 1130 am, I recieved a phone call from two sisters who needed an emergency ride to the train station. Their grandparents were sent to a hospital in NY and they had to be there right away. With no family here to drive them, I decided to take them off to the Dover transit, thinking all would go well.
Little did I realize that on my way back on route 80, wild fumes were blowing out of my hood and my car began to break down. I slowly drove to the side of the highway and pulled open my hood to see the radiator broke and my car was overheated. The fumes were overwhelming and I felt a burning sensation on my face. I went back into the car and called my parents. To my father's dismay, he had to drive in ridiculous traffic to help me.
There was no mercy from the heat in 95 degree weather, and my car wasn't responding to the coolant. After two hours on the highway, my father came to the rescue and tried to restart my car. Since it was too risky to drive it again, we left it at a gas station nearby.
I don't think my father particularly enjoyed his Father's Day. (May Allah grant him the highest rank in Jannah for having sabr) But alhamdulillahi rabiyal alameen. Allah protected us from a situation that could have been far worse.
When I got home, I had called a friend of mine who is getting married in just two weeks to hear her in pain. She had suffered a severe car accident the day before. Nevertheless, Allah granted her His protection as well, for she is alright.
Subhana Rabbi wa bi hamdihi wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadir
Glorified is my Lord with all praise to Him and He has power over everything.
Oh yeah, I graduated from high school. :) alhamdulillah.

Salam,
Alhamdulillahi rabiyal alameeeeen, I am graduating tomorrow! Supposedly weather is going to be beautiful like this past week, and my whole family will be attending the ceremony. Tomorrow night still isn't tangible enough for me to believe that I'm starting a new chapter in my life, inshaAllah. "Congratulations Class of 2006" is like music to my ears, yet I haven't even heard it, yet!
This past week has also been memorable. Seniors went on a cruise in New York, we rehearsed our speeches and graduation walk, signed each other's yearbook, retired from our club office positions, took our last high school final, all that fun stuff.

What's most exciting, now, is that I may have another shot at reviving my deen this summer. Alhamdulillah, I've come a long way and I still have an eternal path to cover before I am a satisfied slave of ar Rahman. I'm honestly ashamed by how weak I am. Hasbunallahu wa naimal wakeel.

as Salam wa Alaykum,
I'm preparing for the last week of high school! Senior cruise, senior picnic, the grad. rehearsals, project graduation, the nonstop (halal) graduation parties. inshaAllah.
Nevertheless, there's just one thing on my mind today and that is...
sabrun jameel. patience is beautiful.
keep it halal.
